Missing Teeth Solutions
Replacing a missing tooth (or several) with the option that fits your mouth, your goals, and your budget.
Most dental treatment can be prevented entirely by routine care - a check every six months, a professional cleaning, and good habits between visits. Age-related tooth loss is no longer a given. If you look after your teeth, there's an excellent chance they'll look after you for a lifetime.
At our Montréal Road, Vanier office we recommend routine checkups for patients of every age. They're quick, comfortable, and they're where most of the value of family dental care actually comes from.
What a checkup includes
Your exam is a careful look at your teeth, gums, bite, jaw, and the soft tissues of your mouth - plus low-radiation digital X-rays when they're needed. Your hygienist removes plaque and tartar that brushing can't reach, polishes, and talks through anything worth keeping an eye on.
A small cavity usually doesn't hurt, because it hasn't reached the nerve yet. Filling it early keeps it small, comfortable, and inexpensive - that's the whole point of coming in regularly.
Why it's worth the time
Routine checkups give us the chance to:
- Catch decay, gum disease, and other concerns before they grow
- Keep your breath fresh and your smile clean
- Track changes over time, so we notice what's new
- Plan ahead instead of reacting to emergencies
- Give you practical guidance for home care
What happens step by step
A routine checkup at our Montréal Road, Vanier office follows a gentle, predictable flow. We start with a quick conversation about any changes since your last visit - new medications, sensitivities, or questions you've been meaning to ask. Then the hygienist cleans and polishes, removing the buildup your toothbrush can't reach. Your dentist does a careful exam of each tooth, your gums, your bite, and the soft tissues of your mouth, including an oral cancer screening. Digital X-rays are taken only when they're clinically needed.
You'll leave knowing exactly where things stand and what (if anything) comes next. Most patients are in and out in under an hour, and we're happy to explain each step as we go.
For kids and anyone who feels nervous
If the thought of a dental visit makes you or your child tense, you're in good company. We take dental anxiety seriously at our practice. Appointments move at a comfortable pace. We explain what's happening in plain language before we do it. And we never rush, because a calm patient has a better experience and better long-term outcomes.
For children, we keep first visits light and positive - no treatment on day one unless there's an urgent need. A child who leaves smiling is a child who'll keep coming back, and that's the foundation of a lifetime of healthy teeth.
Parents often ask about booking the whole family together. We're happy to schedule back-to-back appointments so you make one trip to Montréal Road, Vanier instead of three.

Answers to what patients ask most.
Are you accepting new patients?
Yes, we welcome new patients of every age, from a child's first checkup to adult exams and senior care. Booking a first visit takes about five minutes by phone or through the form on this page.
What happens during a first visit?
We start with a conversation about your dental history and what brought you in, then a gentle exam, low-radiation X-rays if they are needed, and a clear plan. Nothing is rushed and no treatment begins without your sign-off. Plan on about an hour.
Can you help with a same-day emergency?
Yes. If you are in pain or have had an accident, call (613) 656-1400. We keep urgent slots open every working day and will see you as soon as we can.
Do you accept the Canada Dental Care Plan?
Yes. Bring your CDCP letter or member card and a photo ID to your first visit and we will bill the program directly for covered services. We also work with most major Canadian insurers and offer direct billing on most plans.
I get anxious about the dentist. Can you help with that?
You are in good company, and we do not expect anyone to power through it. Tell us when you call and we will adjust the visit around what makes you comfortable: pacing, breaks, the order of things.
How often should I come in for a checkup?
For most people, every six months. We may suggest a different interval depending on your gum health and history, and we will tell you why.
